The Airports Security Force protects Pakistan’s civil aviation environment. Its official mandate includes the security of airports, aerodromes, aircraft, passengers, luggage, cargo and mail, along with maintaining order within airport limits in coordination with other authorities. That mission creates uniformed, operational, administrative and specialist career paths—but not every post is recruited through the same channel or assessed in the same way.
ASF’s official recruitment page identifies major uniformed entries including Assistant Director (BPS-17), Inspector (BPS-16), Assistant Sub Inspector (BPS-11) and Corporal (BPS-07). Recruitment notices may also include clerical, technical, medical or support posts. The advertisement for the active batch controls qualifications, quotas, fees, standards and tests.
Applicants following ASF jobs in Pakistan should save the active advertisement and check it again before every selection stage.
Understand the main career routes
Assistant Director and Inspector are officer-level posts whose recruitment route and minimum education are described on official notices, often involving FPSC for the relevant federal appointments. Assistant Sub Inspector and Corporal recruitments can be conducted through ASF’s recruitment system. A corporal’s official role page states that physical, IQ and written tests are arranged at designated airports, followed by merit under prescribed quotas and a departmental selection process.
Clerical and support positions may require typing, computer proficiency, a practical test or a specific qualification. Medical and technical posts need the professional education or registration named in the notice. Applying for two posts does not mean one test slip or fee necessarily covers both; follow the batch instructions.
Read eligibility as a complete package
Check nationality, domicile or quota, age on the specified date, education, gender provision and any relaxation. For uniformed posts, record height, male chest measurement, weight or other physical and medical criteria exactly as published. ASF’s standing Corporal page currently describes matriculation, an 18–25 age limit with the government relaxation stated there, minimum height of 168 cm for men and 157 cm for women, and other physical measurements. A future advertisement or another post can differ, so never use those figures without checking the active notice.
Educational claims should match board or university records. If an equivalence or professional registration is required, arrange it before the deadline. Candidates employed in government should review the through-proper-channel requirement. Do not assume a pending result will be accepted unless the advertisement explicitly permits it.
Apply only through official channels
Use the ASF website, Join ASF portal and FPSC portal where the advertisement directs. Confirm the web address instead of following a shortened link from a messaging group. Keep your registration record, fee proof, CNIC details and test slip. The Join ASF test-slip instructions tell candidates to keep checking the official website or official social channels for updates.
Do not share login credentials, OTPs or original documents with an unofficial “agent.” No one can sell a legitimate appointment. Report inconsistencies through official contact channels and check corrigenda rather than relying on a screenshot.
Prepare for the physical test
For the 2025–26 physical/medical test slips visible on the official Join ASF system, male candidates were scored on a one-mile run plus push-ups and sit-ups, with 15 aggregate marks required; female candidates had a one-mile running criterion. Those details demonstrate the type of preparation involved, but your own slip and batch instructions are the controlling standard.
Begin with a baseline on a measured route after a proper warm-up. Build aerobic fitness through easy runs and brisk walking, add one controlled faster session each week, and allow recovery. For push-ups and sit-ups, use correct form and increase volume gradually. Two or three consistent strength sessions are more useful than exhausting daily tests. Practise the actual time window only after building a base.
Train in suitable shoes, hydrate normally and sleep well. Avoid crash diets, unprescribed stimulants and deliberate dehydration. If you have an injury, breathing problem, fainting or another health concern, seek medical advice. The initial medical screen can examine eyesight, hearing, blood pressure, physical deformities and other fitness factors shown on the official form; exercise cannot safely conceal a disqualifying medical issue.
IQ and written-test preparation
Use the syllabus and batch instructions if published. IQ or intelligence preparation usually benefits from practice with sequences, analogies, coding patterns, odd-one-out questions, spatial relationships, directions and basic logic. Learn a method: identify the rule, eliminate impossible choices and move on when a question is consuming time.
A written paper may cover English, general knowledge, Pakistan affairs, current affairs, Islamic studies or ethics, everyday science, mathematics, computer basics and job-related awareness, depending on the post. Language preparation should include comprehension, grammar and vocabulary in context. Quantitative preparation should cover percentages, ratios, averages and basic data problems. Study ASF’s official mandate and aviation-security purpose, but do not memorize website slogans as a substitute for the announced syllabus.
Take timed mixed tests and maintain an error notebook. Unofficial memory-based papers can be useful practice, yet their wording and answer keys may be wrong. Verify law, officeholders, statistics and institutional facts from authoritative sources.
Typing, practical and skill tests
For clerical positions, measure typing speed and accuracy using the language and format stated in the notice. Practise clean text rather than memorizing one passage. Revise file management, word processing, spreadsheets, email and basic computer concepts if the syllabus requires them. Technical candidates should rehearse the tools and safety procedures of their trade.
Bring only permitted items. A certificate describing a skill does not guarantee practical performance, so complete tasks under time and review mistakes. If you apply to multiple post types, maintain a separate checklist for each.
Documents and test-day discipline
Prepare the printed registration or test slip, original CNIC, photographs, fee and any documents named in the instructions. Verify the centre and date; major airports or recruitment centres can have access controls and travel delays. Arrive at the stated reporting time, follow dress and item instructions, and do not carry prohibited electronics.
Check names, father’s name, CNIC and qualification details before submission. Preserve copies of forms and receipts. If a list shows an objection, use the official correction mechanism within the deadline rather than arguing through social media.
Interview and final selection
Understand ASF’s place under the Ministry of Defence and its aviation-security mandate. Prepare your education, home district, current affairs and the duties of the post. Think through scenarios involving a passenger dispute, unattended item, pressure from an influential person, confidential information or a procedural mistake.
A sound response prioritizes safety, lawful authority, respectful communication, reporting and documentation. Do not invent technical procedures or claim that force is the first answer. Airport security also requires courtesy, alertness and coordination in a public environment.
An eight-week readiness plan
- Week 1: verify eligibility, submit correctly, organize documents and take physical and academic baselines.
- Weeks 2–3: build aerobic and strength foundations; cover core English, mathematics and reasoning.
- Weeks 4–5: add one-mile pacing, post-related knowledge and timed topic tests.
- Week 6: practise complete physical components safely and take mixed written tests.
- Week 7: review errors, rehearse skill tests and prepare interview examples.
- Week 8: taper hard exercise, consolidate notes and verify the slip, route and originals.
ASF preparation is not only a race or an MCQ book. It combines truthful eligibility, safe fitness, reasoning, knowledge, administrative care and professional judgement. Use the official recruitment trail at every stage.
