The Search Committee for the Vice-Chancellor (VC), appointed by the Senate of the Institute, invites applications from accomplished and strongly motivated academic leaders and administrators who can develop and improve the management of this important resource of intellectual growth and higher learning.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants preferably holding a PhD and a first professional degree in the disciplines of Visual Arts and Design will be assessed based on their academic and leadership abilities and attainments, along with significant evidence of meaningful academic and administration experience, professional competence in art and design, strategic planning, financial management, and resource development. A holistic understanding of issues pertaining to the higher education sector — including the design industry, enhancement of pedagogy and quality assurance, research and development, impact on the economy, development of human and financial resources, and constructive social interaction with communities — will be considered a major asset.

Terms of the Appointment

• The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor for a period of 5 years.
• Maximum age limit: 65 years on the last date fixed for submission of applications.
• Appropriately experienced candidates capable of taking up this challenge may apply by sending a letter of intent, along with a Curriculum Vitae on the prescribed format available at www.pifd.edu.pk, and the names and contact details of three referees.
• The letter should explain, in less than 1,000 words, the candidate's vision for the strengths and possibilities of development and sustenance of the Institution's future programmes.
• Candidates already in Government/Semi-Government service are required to apply through the proper channel.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview.
• Candidates are required to submit HEC attested/equivalence copies of the degrees attained, along with proof of experience in academics, academic administration, research and development, and other relevant attainments.
