Virtual University of Pakistan (VU), a Federal Chartered Public University, has announced 18 vacancies across 13 senior and mid-level positions on a three-year extendable contract basis, including Director Planning & Development, Director Administration, Director Campuses, General Manager Professional Development Centre, Deputy Directors (ORIC, Planning & Development, Finance), Deputy Registrar (Legal), Assistant Directors (ORIC, Admin), Public Relation Officer, and Electrician (3 posts split between Lahore and Islamabad), with roles primarily based at the Head Office, Islamabad. Eligibility ranges from a DAE (Electrical) with 2 years' experience for Electrician to a PhD with 10 years' experience for General Manager Professional Development Centre, with a maximum application age of 55 years and mandatory IT proficiency and English communication skills for most roles. Interested candidates must apply online exclusively through www.vu.edu.pk/jobs by September 28, 2026, paying a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 3,000 (Pay Scale E posts) or Rs. 1,000 (Pay Scale J posts) via the online challan.

• If the candidate holds a qualification higher than the minimum prescribed for the job position, the Division/CGPA of the higher degree will be considered, provided the minimum prescribed degree is not at par.
• In case of qualifications higher than those prescribed for positions in University Scales J-II or above, the Selection Board may relax the experience required.
• Upon initial appointment, the Selection Board may recommend advance increment(s) above the base of the applicable scale, on the grounds of qualifications/achievements/experience over and above those prescribed for the post, as per VU rules.

Instructions Before Applying

1. The age of superannuation is 60 years. The maximum age to apply for any position is 55 years.
2. Applicants already serving in Government/Semi-Government organizations, autonomous bodies, or otherwise under contractual obligations shall be required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer with the application or before interview.
3. Part-time, honorary, visiting, apprenticeship, freelancing, and internee experience shall not be counted as experience. Only experience letters issued by the respective HR/Registrar or relevant authority will be accepted.
4. Only eligible/shortlisted candidates will be contacted individually for interview/job test, as applicable.
5. Interested candidates shall apply online through https://www.vu.edu.pk/Opportunities/Jobs.aspx. It is mandatory to provide all relevant information in the online job application form. No hard copy of the application will be accepted.
6. Candidates possessing a foreign degree shall submit the equivalence certificate issued by HEC, Islamabad.
7. Candidates shall submit/upload Bachelor/BS/MS or MPhil/PhD degrees attested by HEC with the application or before interview. Where a degree is not relevant to the subject/field, the candidate shall submit a degree relevancy certificate issued by HEC/relevant authority.
8. An application processing fee of Rs. 3,000 per application (non-refundable) for posts in Pay Scale "E", and Rs. 1,000 per application (non-refundable) for posts in Pay Scale "J", shall be paid before the closing date or at the time of submission of the online job application, through the challan form generated by the job application portal.
9. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application for each post.
10. Applications containing incomplete/fake information, or submitted without the prescribed application processing fee, will not be entertained.
11. Candidates shall sign an affidavit at the time of interview stating that he/she is not a dual national, and in case of selection, shall not hold dual employment in any manner.
12. In case of selection/appointment, the candidate shall submit a medical fitness certificate, duly signed/stamped by the Medical Superintendent (MS) of any Civil/Government Hospital, at the time of joining.
13. If, at any stage, any deficiency is observed in the eligibility of a candidate, or any fake/incomplete information is found to have been provided, his/her candidature may be cancelled or employment terminated immediately, as applicable.
14. An incomplete application will not be considered — it must be submitted with all mandatory fields completed, all required documents attached, and the SUBMIT button clicked at the final step.
15. No hard or soft copies of missing documents will be accepted after submission. No amendments, additions, or changes to the application will be entertained after the closing date.
16. All interviews will be conducted in person, and no requests for online interview(s) shall be entertained. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the test/interview.
17. Applicable tax(es) will be deducted from the monthly salary as per rules.
18. Virtual University of Pakistan reserves the right to reject any or all applications at any stage without assigning any reason.
