Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma (SMBBIT), Karachi, has announced 20 categories of contractual vacancies for its Trauma and Emergency Response Center at Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College, Hospital Sukkur, spanning senior medical roles such as Consultant Emergency, Consultant Anesthetist, Consultant Radiologist, ICU Physician, and Emergency Physician, mid-level roles including Resident/Senior Medical Officers and Sonologist, and support roles like Duty Administrator, IT Administrator, ICU Technician, Supervisor Maintenance, and Biomedical Technician. All posts are restricted to Sindh domicile holders and are posted at Sukkur, with age limits ranging from 35 to 45 years for applicable posts, and appointments made for an initial 2-year contract renewable on performance. Interested candidates must apply online at jobs.smbbit.gos.pk by 11:59 PM on September 28, 2026; candidates currently in government service are ineligible to apply.

About the Organization

Applications are invited from suitable and qualified candidates for appointment to various posts on a contract basis for the Trauma and Emergency Response Center at Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College, Hospital Sukkur.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Consultant Emergency: FCPS/FRCS/DAB or equivalent, holding valid PMDC registration. Preference given to candidates with post-qualification experience in a reputable hospital.

2. Consultant Anesthetist: FCPS (Anesthesia), holding valid PMDC registration. Preference given to candidates with post-qualification experience.

3. Consultant Radiologist: FCPS (Radiology), holding valid PMDC registration. Preference given to candidates with post-qualification experience.

4. ICU Physician: FCPS (Anesthesia/Critical Care), with post-FCPS fellowship in intensive care, holding valid PMDC registration.

5. Emergency Physician: FCPS in Emergency Medicine/Medicine/Surgery/MRCP or equivalent, holding valid PMDC registration. Preference given to candidates with post-qualification experience.

6. Jr. Consultant Radiology: FCPS (Radiology), holding valid PMDC registration.

7. Specialist Radiologist: MCPS/DMRD (Radiology), holding valid PMDC registration. Preference given to candidates with post-qualification experience.

8. Specialist Anesthetist: MCPS (Anesthesia)/DA, holding valid PMDC registration. Preference given to candidates with post-qualification experience.

9. Resident Medical Officer (ICU/Anaesthesia): MBBS with House Job completed and training of FCPS/MCPS/DA in Anaesthesiology, holding valid PMDC registration.

10. Resident Medical Officer (Emergency): MBBS with House Job and completed training of FCPS (Emergency Medicine/Medicine/Surgery), holding valid registration with PMC.

11. Senior Medical Officer ICU/Anesthesia: MBBS with House Job, and either 2 years' experience in Anesthesia in a reputable hospital, or 2 years' experience in ICU in a reputable hospital. Holding valid PMDC registration.

12. Medical Officer ICU/Anesthesia: MBBS with House Job, 1 year experience in ICU/Anesthesia in a reputable hospital.

13. Resident Medical Officer (Radiology): MBBS with FCPS/MCPS/DMRD (Radiology) training. Holding valid PMDC registration.

14. Senior Medical Officer (Radiology): MBBS with House Job, 2 years' experience in Radiology or ultrasound in a reputable hospital.

15. Sonologist: MBBS with House Job and a Diploma in Ultrasound/Ultrasound course (6 months), with 1 year of working experience in the relevant field. Holding valid PMDC registration.

16. Duty Administrator: MBA in Health Management/MPH/HR from an HEC-recognized university. Candidate having 1 year experience in reputable organization administration.

17. IT Administrator: Bachelor's in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology, with 5 years of similar work experience in a reputable organization.

18. ICU Technician: Diploma in ICU Technician from Sindh Medical Faculty. Candidates must have 1 year of working experience in a reputable hospital.

19. Supervisor Maintenance: Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical/Mechanical/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning from a recognized institute, having 5 years of similar working experience in a tertiary care hospital.

20. Biomedical Technician: DAE/B-Tech in Biomedical/Electronics. Must have 2 years' experience of repair & maintenance of medical equipment.
