Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has announced 3 contract-based vacancies for its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project: Assistant Manager (Database Administration), Assistant Manager (Network Support), and Assistant Manager (Meter Data Management), each with 1 post. Candidates need a 4-year Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Software Engineering from an HEC-recognized institution, with at least 2 years of relevant experience. The age limit is 21–33 years, with 5 years of general relaxation already included; Scheduled Caste and Buddhist candidates get an additional 3 years, and Government/WAPDA/DISCOs employees with 2+ years of service can apply up to age 43. Contracts run for an initial 3 years, extendable, with no future regularization. Applications must be submitted only through the NTS website (nts.org.pk), with a test fee of Rs. 270 payable by the candidate (GEPCO covers the remaining Rs. 270, and 100% for disabled candidates), by 23 October 2026, with the portal closing at 11:59:59 p.m. By-hand applications are not accepted at GEPCO or NTS. For test queries, call NTS at 051-8444441; for general queries, contact the Chief People Officer, GEPCO, at 055-9200513.

About the Organization

Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) is a leading public-sector electric utility company committed to providing a reliable and uninterrupted supply of electricity to more than 5.1 million valued consumers. To meet its operational requirements for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, GEPCO has invited applications through M/s National Testing Service (NTS) from eligible candidates for appointment to three posts on a contract basis, with a lump-sum pay package, to be filled on an open-merit basis.

Eligibility Criteria

All three posts share the same qualification requirement:

• Education: Four-year Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Software Engineering, duly recognized by HEC.
• Experience: At least 2 years in the relevant field.
• Age limit: 21–33 years (5-year general relaxation already included).

Terms & Conditions

• General age relaxation is already included in the age limit shown above. No further relaxation is allowed, except for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Buddhists, who are allowed an additional 3 years.
• Government servants, WAPDA, or DISCOs employees who have completed 2 years of continuous government/WAPDA/DISCOs service as of the closing date are permitted an age limit of up to 43 years.
• Candidates from all over Pakistan are eligible to apply.
• Only qualified/eligible candidates will be allowed to appear in the written test. Only shortlisted candidates, within merit as per the applicable recruitment policy, will be called for interview.
• Candidates will be recruited/appointed on contract with a lump-sum pay package, initially for a period of 3 years, extendable on satisfactory performance. Contractual appointees' services will not be regularized at any stage in the future.
• Candidates with Result Cards/Transcripts mentioning CGPA must obtain Result Cards/Transcripts showing marks in percentage from their HEC-recognized institutions/universities before applying.
• Computer knowledge (MS Office, Excel, Windows, Internet, email, etc.) will be an additional advantage.
• Serving candidates in government service must apply through the proper channel and provide a departmental No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview, clearly describing the date of appointment and nature of employment (regular, contract, etc.).
• Selected candidates will be required to perform duties within GEPCO's jurisdiction.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for test/interview.
• Only candidates who have completed their requisite qualifications are eligible to apply — candidates awaiting their final transcript, degree, domicile, or other certificates as of the closing date, or awaiting their result, are not eligible.
• Incomplete applications, applications with incorrect information, or those received after the due date will not be entertained.
• Late submission of applications by courier service will have no binding effect on GEPCO or NTS.
• Original documents along with one set of attested photocopies must be presented at the time of interview.
• GEPCO reserves the right to withhold or cancel the whole recruitment process, or any post, at any stage without giving a reason, and to increase or decrease the number of posts as required.
• Concealment or misrepresentation of facts at any stage will lead to disqualification from the current recruitment and from all GEPCO tests/exams in the future.
• Mobile phones will not be allowed inside test center premises.
• Dismissed/screened-out employees of any organization, or those with a criminal record, are not eligible for employment at GEPCO. Clearance of character and antecedents from the agencies/police is mandatory.
• Any litigation related to recruitment tests conducted by NTS will be dealt with by NTS at its own level.

Test Fee

• Total test fee: Rs. 540.
• Per Establishment Division guidelines, 50% of the fee is borne by the candidate and 50% by GEPCO.
• Candidates must submit the completed application form along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 270; the remaining Rs. 270 is paid by GEPCO directly to NTS, per their agreement.
• No test fee will be charged to candidates with disabilities — GEPCO will pay 100% of their fee directly to NTS, as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) measure.
• The fee must be paid to NTS through 1Link, 1Bill participating banks, ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or TCS Express Counters.

Selection Process

• Roll Number Slips, containing information about the test center, timing, and test date, will be uploaded to the NTS website at least 1 week before the test date. Candidates will also be informed via email and SMS to their provided mobile number.
• Candidates may contact NTS for any query regarding the written test, provisional/final candidate lists, Roll Number Slips, test centers, or results.

How to Apply

1. Apply directly on the NTS website: www.nts.org.pk. By-hand applications will not be received, either at GEPCO or NTS.
2. Submit the completed application form along with the prescribed Rs. 270 fee.
3. A separate application form must be submitted for each post, if applying for more than one.
4. Submit before the deadline of 23 October 2026. The online application portal will be removed from the website at 11:59:59 p.m. on the closing date.

No application will be entertained at GEPCO Headquarters — candidates must send their complete application form directly to NTS.
