UET Taxila Jobs 2026 – Project-Based Research Assistant Positions

University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila, has announced 4 project-based Research Assistant vacancies across three funded research projects: an Asia-Pacific Network Project on urban climate resilience (2 posts, Rs. 45,000/month, 18-month duration), an HEC-funded NRPU project on geopolymer building blocks from agro-waste (1 post, Rs. 100,000/month, 15-month duration), and an HEC-funded NRPU project on circular bioeconomy through biogas and bioplastic production (1 post, Rs. 100,000/month, 12-month duration). Eligible candidates must hold a BS/MS degree in relevant fields such as Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial Engineering from an HEC-recognized/PEC-accredited university, with age limits ranging from up to 30 years to 21–45 years depending on the category. Interested candidates should submit the prescribed hard-copy application along with a Rs. 2,000 non-refundable fee and required documents to the R&I Cell, UET Taxila, by September 14, 2026, 3:30 PM, along with a soft copy emailed to the category-specific contact address.

About the Organization

University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila, has invited applications from qualified individuals domiciled in the province of Punjab (both hard and soft copy) for project-based vacant positions under the following funded projects.

Eligibility Criteria

Category I – Asia-Pacific Network Project (CRRP 2025-5MAY-SEEEWANDI)

Project Title: "Urban Ecosystem Based Adaptions for Climate Resilience: A Comparative Study of Policy Practice and Capacity Building in Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan"

Qualification: BS/MS degree in Environmental Engineering/Computer Science or a related field from an HEC-recognized/PEC-accredited university.

Required Skills: Environmental impact assessment and climate resilience strategies; policy analysis and comparative study methodologies, with report writing skills; data analysis and visualization using tools such as Python, R, or similar; and GIS and Remote Sensing for environmental monitoring.

Category II – HEC Funded Project NRPU No. 114328-35

Project Title: "Development of Non-Fired-Cured Geopolymer Building Blocks (G-Blocks) from Punjab Agro-Waste: A Pathway to Smog-Free Future and Sustainable Construction"

Qualification: MS/MPhil/PhD degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized/PEC-accredited university. Preference will be given to candidates with specialization in Structural Engineering.

Category III – HEC Funded Project NRPU No. 186257-34

Project Title: "Advancing Pakistan's Circular Bioeconomy through Biogas Upgrading and Carbon Utilization for Renewable Energy and Bioplastic Production"

Qualification: BS/MS degree (at the time of joining) from an HEC-recognized/PEC-accredited university in any of the following fields: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.

General Instructions for All Categories

i. Applications (in hard form) on the prescribed proforma, available at the UET Taxila official website (https://web.uettaxila.edu.pk/OR/postsVacant.asp), for all mentioned categories, completed in all aspects along with attested copies of educational testimonials (degrees/certificates, transcript/DMC), experience certificates (from Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Bodies), a copy of CNIC, one recent photograph, and valid PEC registration card (only applicable for degrees in engineering disciplines), must reach the R&I Cell, UET Taxila, up to September 14, 2026 (Monday), 3:30 PM.

ii. An application fee of Rs. 2,000 (non-refundable) for the project positions must be paid in favor of the Treasurer, UET Taxila, in the form of a Bank Draft, Postal Order, or HBL Challan of the UET Taxila Branch.

iii. Candidates applying for multiple positions are required to submit separate applications with separate application fees for each post.

iv. All posts mentioned in the above categories are purely on a project basis; hence, posts do not confer any right to regular appointment in any of the above categories.

v. Only those qualifications and experience will be considered for which valid documentary proof is attached up to the last date of application submission.

vi. If any educational document or other document provided by the applicant is found incorrect/fake at any stage, the candidate will be disqualified immediately.

vii. Incomplete applications and those received after the due date shall be rejected without information to the applicant.

viii. Age relaxation will be considered in light of Government/University rules on a case-to-case basis.

ix. The University reserves the right to decrease the number of posts as per requirement without assigning any reason.

x. Only shortlisted candidates who meet the criteria will be called for test/interviews.

xi. No TA/DA will be admissible at any stage.
